My 07 250 cafe racer build
I picked up an 06 ninja 250 that had been wrecked and setting since 09. The fairings were trash so I started ditching all that stuff. Then the normal steps to get it running again. It's pretty much finished mechanically. Next is to paint it but not sure if I will or not. As I have another project now.
Look forward to some honest criticism Last futzed with by elephantman78; April 1st, 2014 at 08:18 AM. |

Nice job. I like streetfighters a little more than cafe racers, however this looks pretty badass.

I couldn't tell you compared to stock. Just the ends are cut out and it's hollow about 6 inches in. Which gives it the nice resonated sound. Id say Its probably louder then my cb750 stock exhaust. I must say I like my exhaust loud. One of the pic has my pt cruiser in the back ground that has working side pipes. So loud to me is probably insanely loud to others.

I would cut the mufflers more so the little pipes look like gatting gun turrets sticking out.

That's not a bad idea. I've already removed the baffles, and I was originally planning to cut out the end of the cans like he has in the pictures, but I may just have to see how far in those little pipes are. If they can be exposed without cutting off the mounting point then I may have to look into doing that. Right now mine is in the first stages of the cafe project, I've only pulled the covers off the bike, haven't really done anything else yet.

I like it. I am currently working on a project that will be similar to this. I was wondering what if any jetting you have used for that air filter an exhaust setup. Also what head light and rear farring is that?

Does the carb stay in place without any issues? Without the air box to hold it in place does it have any issues rattling?
Also what size is the air filter attachments for the carb and where did you put your battery? Sorry, I'm new to this. I love the build by the way. |

After removing the end plates off the mufflers would the carbs need to be jetted?

but I do recommend adjusting the idle jets and shimming the main needles, at the very most go up on size on the main jets.
