Lots of changes!
Well, a few months ago, I sold my 250... It was a sad day, since it was my first bike and it was a great bike, but we were planning on moving from California to Colorado and one less thing to move sounded really nice, plus I had been thinking about getting a 650 anyway...
We moved to Colorado last weekend (the 19th) and by this last Friday, I had a new bike! I had been looking on Craigslist for the last few weeks and there was a guy selling a '12 with less than 2k miles! It was still available when we got here, so I grabbed it! So far, I am loving the 650! Now, I love the 250 and think it's a great bike, but the 650 is just as great, but in a few different ways... Better acceleration and power when you need it, a bit more comfortable (especially at highway speeds) and still fun to ride! Now I am just hoping for some good weather (and I need to find some good roads) to really stretch its legs!

Thanks everyone!
I got to ride a little on Friday (to the DMV and home) and a little on Saturday, so I am really looking forward to a longer ride!

I've always really liked the frame-shock-swingarm line the 650 has on the right side; it just really ties everything together.

Thanks! Well, it's more of a touring sport bike, so I know many people prefer the true sport bike look/feel (which don't get me wrong, that 636 is one beautiful bike), but the 650 is perfect for what I want to do with the bike, which is cruise around comfortably...

Congrats on the new bike Jason. With your new move please tell me you don't have a similar commute like down here.

Nope, no more commute! At the beginning of the year, I quit my job and went freelance, so I work from home now! My commute is from the bedroom to my desk! The bike is now just for fun!

Even better! Having a motorcycle as just a toy is the best decision I've ever made.

Yeah, I am glad I don't have to commute any more and even happier to have the bike (and the Mustang) as "fun toys"! Although, the Mustang is still in California until we find a house out here... Guess that just means more bike riding this summer!

So far, I haven't ridden it more than 10 minutes, so I can't say yet, but the seat and ergonomics definitely feel better so far. Especially driving on the freeway (which is where I have done most of the driving so far).
I know when I was commuting with the 250, I would be on the bike for an hour (stock setup) and that was about how long I'd want to be on it! My butt would be hurting by the time I'd get to work/home! I hope to take the 650 out for a longer trip this weekend...

So, I got to ride the bike quite a bit today! It definitely is nicer on the freeway! For longer trips, it's a little better than the 250. My butt was still hurting after a while (damn stock seats!), but the more upright position felt more comfortable over all. And I still love that extra power!
The other day, I did the fender eliminator and ordered stands from MJ Moto so I can do chain maintenance and oil changes.

One thing I *really* like about this bike is that the rear view mirrors actually work! LOL! On the 250, no matter how I positioned those mirrors, I had to move my elbows in in to look behind me. On the 650, I don't have to move anything and I can actually see behind me with either mirror! It really is the little things that make me happy...
