I like their thoroughness, but it is interesting the things that make it to this level (compared to other issues, primarily related to the shaft drive, that do not). Once BMW realizes that there is a safety component to the issue, they go all in (witness the R1200RT LC stop ride for the suspension issue, and now this). But they can be stubborn as all get-out for some other long-standing quirks (surging on the 1100's, 1150's; shaft seal failures on a whole host of bikes).

It states that if over tightened the part may fail, no matter what they replace it with - if over tightened anything will fail. So many bmw bikes will be for sale cheap -cause of this engineering fail...
