Angry Wasn't my fault this time. RIP first bike.

So some old dude made a left turn into a parking lot failing to see me and I took a shot at his rear bumper. Thank God I came out with just a tiny bruise on my shin, but the bike... I am expecting to see the insurance adjuster to call it a total loss since the bike is not expensive to begin with and OEM parts are astronomical to the insurance guys. I think I have a lucky bird on my shoulder.

Glad to hear your okay, as Chuck Yeager once said " any landing you can walk away from, is a good landing"

Hope the insurance company pays out enough for you to get another one.

Take the insurance payout, buy the bike back and make a cafe racer or street fighter out of it.

Or just buy cheap aftermarket fairing or learn to plastic weld.

Been in the same situations (except the accident was my fault). You're bike doesn't look that bad.

I was able to use some 3m product to literally tape and plastic glue my fairings back together. It held really well for a riding season while I patiently cruised ebay looking for cheap used fairings. After I got them my bike was good as new.

You can rebuild her.

I just took up plastic welding a week ago and it seems to work pretty well on my daughters bike.

That doesn't look remotely totaled to me, unless something's gotten tweaked.

Looks like you need upper cowl, right side lower and a turn signal. Frame slider wouldn't be covered since it's not OEM.

Minimal Google searching (cheapcycleparts.com) show the total for all of that to be about $600. No doubt you could get the bits a lot cheaper with patience and an ebay account.

Depends on the coverage. Mine covers aftermarket parts up to 3k. They replaced the sliders (among other things) on my 300 after it fell over in the driveway.

Glad you're not hurt! Hopefully your insurance payout will cover some of the repairs or replacement faring pieces.

I remember what I used to fix my fairing now. Fiberglass cloth. It's really tough and easy to glue to the fairing and bandaid it together with plastic glue made to use on ABS plastic.

You can get all this stuff at autozone and walmart for less $30.

You bike will still have battle scars but that's what racing stickers are for

Glad you're mostly okay OP. Your lucky bird should do you a favor and keep you clear of the entire accident next time.

If that's as tongue in cheek as it reads to me, you should've suggested a GSX-R.

Just got the repair quote from a very reputable shop near me. To make it simple, I could buy two brand new of the same bike. A estimate of 7k. ****ed up everything from the front wheel to the seat fairing and everything in between and then some. Instrument cluster is in a couple of pieces as well. At least the fuel tank didn't get a scratch on it.

I haven't let their insurance of the damage cost because I want to see if I should get a lawyer to help recover my damaged bike. I have 1000 on any additions to the bike, but I don't know how that would work with his policy. Got a lot of pictures of the location and what could cause the accident if the person isn't paying attention.

Why an R6? Go all the way and get a Concours.

How do you buy the bike back from insurance? When I crashed mine, they told me it would sell at an auction.

I've only totaled a couple of cars, but when they offered the pay out I asked how much to buy it back and they gave me a price.
