GSXR muffler on Ninja 250R
Yeah, it's a farkle because I did it just for the look and sound, not really to save weight or go faster.
muffler from 06-07 GSXR 600 (or 750 works too), cut and welded to the stock muffler flange. Had to shorten the midpipe by about 3" too. I did make my own baffle out of a piece of the perf tubing from the stock muffler. about 1" diameter and 6" long, wrapped in fiberglass packing with blockoff plates tacked in to prevent the glass from blowing out. I still need to shim needles but it ran fine on the way home last night. If I want to go back to stock, I can replace the muffler for about $50 and weld the extra back onto the midpipe. OR, I could just buy a full A/M system one day. I did it for the look and I love it. I did it for the sound and I love it (but only with the baffle in) It does sound a little 'tinny' or raspy in the video, but that is due to the mic on my phone. In person, it's not quite the same.

A friend of mine did this mod too. She loves it. I think it looks pretty cool.

Before and After pic
Closer view of muffler Yes, I will openly acknowledge that my welds look like crap and it is all rashed up. Cheap on Ebay, and I haven't gotten to sand and paint yet. As for the welds, again, part of the finishing process that I did not get to do last night. All that will be cleaned and slicked and painted and never spoken of again.

lol yeah i have it on mine too. except i didn't go to the lengths that you did. i kept the stock pipes the same length and cut the collar off of my old rashed stock muffler. then i welded that collar onto the gsxr exhaust at a different angle than all of you so it points to the ground. sure i cant lean nearly that far down anymore but i never take turns that fast. nor are there really many turns around here that require me to. Nonetheless, on mine its basically a straight pipe and i love the sound as well. But now its gone. just changed over to a full tyga exhaust. literally, like an hour ago lol

Everyone should have a welder.
This isn't what I use (Hobart Handler 140) but it's pretty cheap and could get you started. Just bear in mind that thin stuff like these muffler shells will burn through REALLY quickly. http://www.harborfreight.com/welding...8887-8494.html http://www.hobartwelders.com/product...ed/handler140/

Looks good, how did you hang it? The stock has a bracket, but I could not see how you supported the muffler.

you fix the end yet?
I couldnt rock it like that....you could weld all around then grind it down smooth and paint it with high temp paint...

Haven't fixed the end yet... And I cant see it while riding, soooo.....
I think I am going to remove the chrome cover, use a thin piece of metal (likely from a damaged fender) and make a full cover for the end of the oval pipe, with the edges hammered/rolled over the edge. Then I can make it a bolt on cover and replace the chrome to cover it up. Yes, it is all gonna eventually get hi-temp black |

I like things done technically correct, but I'm also a realist.

If you use a car exhaust clamp, you can tighten it down more than the stock clamp. It won't even wobble at all.
