You guys on crack?

This is my 4th post here. the only person I've talked to is Chris. So why all the hate? Maybe ur hallucinating? I thought this would be a good place to get info for taking the ninjette to the track. Any suggestions for a place to get info on track prepping the 250? I gotta say tho, I am impressed with this place.

Hey Duggram.... No crack here.... kinda curious about the hate thing though... Maybe you are a victim of the [ you ] tag. Do you find your name mentioned in threads that were created before you joined?

Hate? Where?

This place is the best on the net to get get info on tracking a ninja 250. Hell, for that matter, we have some of the best content on tracking ANY bike. Plenty of talent, control riders, msf coaches, club/pro racers, track day organizers and so on and so on all post here.

Where are you at with your bike and it's prep? Lemme know and I will point you in the right direction. I don't know everything but we should be able to move forward.

I think he was inferring that the hate was from the ABSENCE of conversation, not the presence of it....I would say don't worry bout it, i'm sure it's nothing personal. Unless the moderator specifically calls you out and attempts to publicly shame you that is

OK, maybe I over reacted, but then I really didn't do anything to earn that thread.

Yes, I read elsewhere on the Web that this would be the place for track info. I just picked up this bike a 2012 with <200 miles on it. The ninjette class has got to be one of the fastest growing. I need to sell Sportster before I can do too much more, but there's no rush. Thank you for the offer of advice. I'll just lurk here till I'm ready to move on it.

Before they drive you away, Unregistered, let me spell it out for you:

1. Make a test post with the tag [-you] in it, but without the hyphen.

2. Refresh the page.

3. Sit back and admire that the tag was replaced with your username.

4. Understand that from everyone else's perspective, it was also replaced with THEIR username (whoever is logged in and reading it).

5. Think of devious ways to confuse newbies with the tag.

6. ???

7. Profit.

I'm missing a step there but I'm sure Unregistered can help us figure that one out.

Go ahead and click "Quote" on my post and take a look at what I typed. No where did I ever type your username.

I keep tellin ya. That "you" tag is driving lots of people away.
I nearly left cos of it but it has downsides too
Get - rid - of - it
It's like keeping a mad dog in your restaurant that attacks new customers, no matter how much the locals say "He's okay once you know him" the damage is done.

Another victim! the {you} tag is there to cull the herd. The smart ones figure it out and stay, the not so smart ones get frustrated but know enough to seek help and stay after getting it. Population control at ninjette.org.

It (you tag) threw me for a loop too, but after reading on, it became obvious it was html code
.. So I guess I agree with crazymadbastard ^^

That's the best damn reason to keep it around I've ever heard. When I saw it, I was a little confused, but I decided to keep reading instead of instantly backing out and creating a counter thread. In fact, I was quite amazed when I started seeing counters popping up.

It's just like...

I hate the you tag. First time I spotted it. I said" its about time I got the recognition I so richly deserve". Everyone is talking about me. I felt like a rock star. Like Justin Bieber or something. But then ... Then I found out it was a joke. I'm still angry and resentful.

maybe it's a filter. the people who get offended by everything see their name and can't take a joke and so they leave without ever making a fuss. the sane people figure it out eventually and play nice

if only there was a section dedicated for "ninjettes at speed" on this forum and then all your questions could be answered.

@Alex, should we have a poll? To keep the Unregistered tag or not to keep the Unregistered tag? That is the question.

Edit: I agree, the thing's annoying.

[ you ] tag is like free speech. I love it 'cause I think I'm funny when I use it, but I don't want anybody else to use it cause it offends me.

In other words, the answer is keep it.

I like that we only have people here that are think skinned enough to survive their first run in with the YOU tag. Because in all honestly things get much worst on the net then the YOU tag so if you can't handle it I say go somewhere else.

Cool story bro, tell it again

Sadly my experience was similar but I'm a skeptic and thought I'm not on her enough to garner this kind of attention do something must be up.

Talking

Now I find out ya'll aren't talking about me every time I log on? Jeez. I thought I was a budding rock star too. Not a Justin Bieber rock star kinda thing tho 'cause my voice is too deep to be mistaken for The Beebs. I do have lots of cracks on my fairings tho so I'm kinda on crack right?

Lol not a clock but you know those car mustaches that volkswagon bugs love to wear? I definitely thought about trimming those down to fit the ninjette.

Now that'd give new meaning to "hairy biker dude" LOL - Maybe it'd be a good way to get Cagers to pay attention too?
