New in New Jersey
Hey all! I'm Mike. Living for now just outside of Princeton but moving to Freehold in a few months. I bought a 2001 Ninja 250 in the traditional green early last spring. It's my first bike ever and I'm just enjoying it every chance I get.
I'm glad that this site exists. I found it last month but only just started posting. The folks on here have been great. I plan to track the bike next summer so I have the winter to prepare and learn what has worked in the past to prepare it right. I used to race Formula Vee a long time ago. Racing is a blast. I firmly believe that track skills make you better on the road. Here's a couple of pics of my ride. The last pic was taken in the campgrounds on Atsion Lake just north of NJMSP. It's a beautiful spot. Mike

Thanks Matt. It's not perfect by any means but it is nice. It's hard to see in the pics but there's a crack running down the left side of the upper cowl top to bottom in the area of the turn signal. I can live with it until i can find a set of green plastic locally.
For the track conversion I'll slowly accumulate the parts needed to make her a basic street legal racer. I'd like to get her some new tires. It still has the original K630's so I'd like to get something new on her anyway-- either Pirelli's or Battlax's. They're about the same price so I'll get whatever the local hotshots use. I'd like to put on a set of clip on's and stiffer springs for the front end. Maybe the rear shock and spring conversion eventually but I'll have to ride her on the track before going too crazy. I weigh around 150-155 on my way down to 145 so I'm pretty light. Short too, lol. I picked up a really nice one-piece leather suit. Found it new on ebay from a guy here in NJ. I wore it on a ride down to AC. It was really comfortable and kept me feeling very safe. I looked like a knob since nobody out here rides in leather but I don't care. I have responsibilities and people counting on me. Most of us do. Can't let going down stop me. It's little big so I may sell it eventually. Anybody around her do rides? Mike

It looks more like a hotel than a hospital. Every room is private, no roommates.

There's one at the entrance to the hospital at Scotch Road. There's another one somewhere on the grounds but I haven't seen it. What are they for?

I'll see if I can find the second one on Saturday when I go in again. I asked someone what's up with the cow at the entrance? They told me they were opening a Chick Fil A in the hospital. I believed it. Lol

Hey to everyone for making me feel so welcome! I have to say that everyone that I've contacted with questions has been really nice.
I'm thinking about tires soon so I've been asking around here. I'm probably looking at putting around 2000 miles a year on her, maybe less once I get the GSX-R, or maybe more. I don't know. I want something sticky though. Seems like the Diablo's are a good sticky choice. I've read that I can track them too.

Teri - - I found the other ox. It's to the right of the main entrance to the building by the valet parking circle.

The weather? I was thinking of riding down to NJMSP. Their calendar shown a bike school or club race or something on Saturday. I want to check it out.
