I'm Finally in the Ninja Club!
Greetings from Houston, TX!
Just bought a 2008 Ninja 250 to make into a track bike. My bike history - I've been riding for about 6 years now. Started with a CBR929 when I lived in Austin, moved on to a 2005 R1, had back surgery and sold the sport bike for a Aprilia 550 supermoto. Realized the supermoto wasn't a great bike for Houston, sold it and bought a 2002 SV650S then sold it for a wrecked 2001 SP1 RC51. The RC turned out to have a lot of problems and I sold it. Went motorcycle-less for a while then found a wrecked 2009 R1 and rebuilt it. Sadly, I sold it, then bought a CBR600 track bike rebuilt with a blank no-vin frame. I rode it once on a trackday and lowsided because of cold tires. After rebuilding it I then had the opportunity to trade it for a decent SP2 RC51 that had a title. I currently have the RC51 and am happy to have another that rides nice. I also have a mini KTM65 supermoto that is a blast to ride. I bought the Ninja to help rid myself of the literbike habits. I definitely want to take my RC to a track day, but the Ninja will teach me more and be much cheaper to maintain. Look forward to riding track more often. |

Welcome. If you ever decide you're tired of the RC51, hit me up. I love that bike.
You definitely need to do a track day or three on your little ninja. It will make you faster on everything else (and maybe safer too). I race my ninjette. |

Thanks all! Yes I am on MotoHouston and have a couple build threads there.
Some people diss the RC51 being old and slow, but I love 'em. They're just weird and fun, hope to keep one in my stable. Hope to learn a lot from the Ninja and be able to use more of what the literbike has to give. |

I love the purple hair pic. Get off the Honda crush and buy a Gixxer, after you learn to ride on the 250.

Not a Suzuki fan, had a 2008 Gixxer 1000 for abut a week after getting it in a trade. Sold it for a profit and didn't miss it.
Really hoping my next bike is a nice used BMW S1000rr |

Wow Chixwithtrix I'm sure I'm going to learn something from you. seems like you went backwards started with the track toys and now with the 250. I loved some of the bigger bikes I've ridden but I love the 250-600 range I think it just is more practical on the street. I am looking to get into supermoto currently so we have that going for me and My next new bike will be a 1290 SuperDuke R (best bike I've ever ridden) RC8 is alot of fun too.

I had an Aprilia SXV 550 sumo. Awesome bike, but broke a lot. They are so much fun, you just have to watch out for head shake an high speeds.
