the Camaro is legally at fault. the pickup is at fault for egging him on. the guy in the peterbilt is an idiot for not seeing this coming for ten minutes. when I see this, I back off and let the idiots fight it out. the sad thing was I bet the Camaro wasn't even a v8!

Camero was at fault. But all three are to blame. When I see this sort of thing on the road. I just put out a blanket and watch the train wreck.

Camaro is at fault. Truck did help to stir his impatience though. 18 wheeler had no part of the blame. I am sure most of you have done what the truck did when noticing an a**hat behind you and your in the passing lane. 100% on the Camaro though.

Ya - you could see that coming a mile away.

Whenever you have knuckleheads messing with each other on the road it's best to back off and give them plenty of room. You know it's only going to escalate because nobody will back down.

No question in my mind the Camaro was the biggest bonehead of the group and ultimately is responsible because he lost control of his vehicle.

Anybody else get really uncomfortable with road rage? I don't understand why people have such big egos and can't live and let live... I would love to see a follow up interview with the pick up truck driver so he can provide a legitimate reason for not letting the Camaro pass...

Not defending the Camaro, obviously he's an asshat, but even they were all going the speed limit, what makes the pickup unable to call LEO's so they can do their job and everybody can stay safe?

Entitlement is a terrible, terrible thing!

So much fail!

Assuming the camera lense hasn't created a false impression of distance, that guy was driving way to close to the Camero and the pickup. I wouldn't drive that close even if the people in front of me were acting like adults. With children in adult bodies operating vehicles which probably have a combined weight of about 4 tons, I'd do the same as @jkv45 - back way off and let it play out.

Bet that trucker was pissed! I hope he stepped out of his trucked and glared at them like this:

Obviously the Camaro driver is a jackass hothead and shouldn't have anything more powerful than a pedal car.
The driver in the pickup is a asshole for blocking the pass BUT i can understand the pickups reaction after the Camaro tries to push the truck off the road.
I put no fault on the rig as i'm sure the driver sees this kind of thing all that time and if he backed off to let the hotheads pass every time he wouldnt get anywhere. I would guess the rig didn't think the camaro would be stupid enough to try to pass in the grass.

Pickup truck instigated the whole situation by not letting the camaro in at the start

Come on. The Camaro driver's behaviour is utterly insane and disproportional compared to the actions of the pickup driver. Sure the pickup driver was annoying (would've pissed me off!), but he couldn't have possibly predicted any of that. The Camaro driver has free-will; everything that he did is completely on him.

Think about it. Pickup driver drives too slow causing Camaro driver to be held up. Camaro driver almost runs the pickup into the barrier. Pickup driver pissed off at this deliberately holds the Camaro driver up. Camaro driver tailgates really dangerously then performs dangerous overtake that ultimately takes him/herself off the road along with pickup and an innocent third party.

So it's: driving too slow and deliberately holding a driver up Vs driving recklessly, using a car as a weapon, endangering people's lives and likely property damage.

Edit: @allanoue - I only just saw your post. Did I just fall in a trap Interwebs: 1. Akima: 0 :/

I wasn't trolling.
The pickup legitimately sped up in an attempt to block the camaro from merging. At :37 you can see that the pickup truck could've jus maintained speed and the camaro would have gone on his way and nothing would have come from it. Sure the camaro was "asking for it" but does that give the pickup truck to "rape" him?
Really makes you think.

It is like the troll is the Camaro and the pickup fed him and the big rig passively helped.

The guy who called.
Notice that nothing happened until the camera driver picked up the phone and disrupted that perfect balance of relative velocities.

There is no need to hold anybody from passing or from speeding up.
We never know the reasons that another driver may have to behave "crazily".
It may be a reckless teenager driving to his/her high school, but it may also be a person in a real emergency, who knows?

In such case, the driver is not in his/her best judgment and control; why make things worse for everyone?
As riders, we should never try blocking any car.
We riders are not road educators, we are just road survivors.

As a rider, I noticed I've increased my situational awareness along with defensive driving skill while in the car....while decreased my "road rage" impulsions.

Ever since I started riding 10 years ago, I've noticed my driving habits have changed for the better. I let things roll of my back much easier. My mentality: Live to ride (drive) another day. Life is good.

However, at the same time you're making excuses for a drunk driver (Camaro driver was 0.19 BAC).
