The adventure (or bursts of short runs) begins
Hello all,
I've decided to get a bike. I've always been a car guy, but I want to test myself. Going with a Ninja 250. Nice to meet you all. I've a technical question: The 250 I'm buying is in a bit of an odd situation (to me). Previous owner had an 08 that he wrecked (front end damage). They found an 04, and swapped the 08 motor into the 04 frame. As you know the exhausts are different/center stand/etc. Is there an OTS exhaust system for Ninjas in this predicament? Also, I don't mind wrenching as I find that's the best way to learn new systems. I can post pics if anyone need. Thanks for any help! Peace |

Welcome!
You've come to the right forum for that kind of question! Someone should be able to answer for you if they're on the board through the holidays. I don't have an answer for you other than if it is your first bike let alone your first 250; I'd avoid a Frankeinbike as an introduction! Even if you like wrenching! But; that's me. Most important; get and wear good gear!(ATGATT). 2nd; get riding instruction! I know it sounds like old fart, nanny advice (it is!) but the main reason I'm still here to post is because I wear good gear and get regular training! Welcome to the addiction!

All the plastics are included as well as odds and ends from the '08.
He priced to sell at $500. Engine turns over and all. Couple dents on the tank, but I don't mind it. |

Welcome!
Due to the differences in routing and headers, I am not sure there is a ots solution to your exhaust issue. I can offer you this though, some "old school" muffler shops can fab exhausts and when you find the right one... they work pretty cheap in comparison. Being a car guy may help you here.

being able to work on your bike is one thing, but the question is do you want to ride more then working on the bike? if so, maybe wise to purchase a non frankenstein bike.
