I think so. I don't think he's moving faster than I would be in the corners, but he's definitely opening up that R6 on the straights.

It does look fun. Kinda confused on why it's 2 lanes one way but only 1 the other? idk. Looks like a pleasant road for either car or bike.

Most hilly roads that are used by vehicles that can not make it up the hill at speed are set up this way.

absolutely! That guy was moving and seemed very comfortable. Looks like a great road though. Anybody know it? Looks like parts of the Blue Ridge?

Most of the time the R6 wasn't even in the power band, could have gone much faster.

^^^ yep

It's not just going fast in the straights, the r6 shortened the gap on every corner exit. Exit drive is important! Given equal skilled riders on both bikes, there is 0% chance the 300 will stay ahead. Even if the 300 rider is more skilled, he has to be more skilled than the other rider + the power difference.

Oh, thanks. I kinda missed the uphill part. Dunno how that didn't seem obvious.

Dude... 10 seconds of thought here. I can't remember seeing that extra lane on uphills in home state. Plenty as you go south or west.

I believe he wouldn't be able to catch up to me if three things were satisfied
1. I knew I was being chased and didn't want to be caught (aka running a quick pace)
2. Head start, the power difference will cause him to be slightly quicker but not quick enough to overcome a head start
3. I've done a few runs already and am confident that my tires are hot

with that head start, I believe we would arrive at the top at roughly the same time but I would still be ahead

that said, the 300 rider he caught up to was hella crossed up and not really leaning the bike all that much. From other videos of his I believe chase is a mid-toppack novice trackday rider as well which puts him as a high level street rider if he uses his full pace on street. I also don't believe this was his full pace

I know people who are ungodly fast in the mountains, chase is one of the quicker ones (on the east coast) for sure based on his videos but not unbeatable by a ninja 300
sidenote: all of the fast riders I know in the mountains have done track at some point

The description says "Had a fun little run up Blood Mountain with a few buddies" Google Search brings up a Blood Mountain in North Georgia that looks like it has some twisty roads.

Couple hours south of Deals Gap and the Dragon.

That's the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Hmmm, never been there. I am sure there is plenty of elevation change up there near the PA line. Maybe I should take a weekend trip next season.

I recently drove 555, 536, 255, and 800 at a nice pace. I don't think that's technically Hocking Hills area (or is it??) but it was a good time. Was nice having a cage around me for a change. There were definitely a few surprises in the roads.

But we don't have the extra hill lanes like mentioned above.

Not all roads get the 3rd lane for hills. It's been my experience that the extra lane is only needed if there are not enough designated passing areas and/or the amount of traffic on the road warrants the 3rd lane for slower vehicles. The length of pavement that is of a steep grade and the vehicles that are allowed to be on the surface will also be a factor. For example, don't expect to see a 3rd lane for slow vehicles on a road that bans triple axle vehicles.

Got plenty of roads like that around here.

With that said, the R6 wasn't trying too hard, early braking, RPMs too low, etc..... I'm going to overlook the passing move over the double yellow line.

As I've always said the Ninjette is a formidable opponent in the twisties, but when to road goes straight, it's all over. Assuming both have the nerve.

The best part of the road in the video is scarce traffic and wide lanes.
Some of the turns seem to be tight but cant deduce how much. Anyone of the veterans here been to Ortega Hwy in California? Would really like to see a video of that since I am quite familiar with the turns there. Wonder how people fare over there
