Handle bar hits gas tank on left side after dropped
Hello. Looking for any suggestions or opinions on this one. I have 2 - 2007 ninja EX250's. I typically can compare back and forth and figure out how something should work or look. I am stumped. One bike was in a minor accident with previous owner, dropped it while moving when truck cut her off. The left side handlebar hits the gas tank now. Even if just on the side kick stand at rest it will tap it. I think the main frame is what stops it on the right side, but then cannot understand what is preventing it on the left, unless something was bent in the fall as the handlebar probably bent into the gas tank then. I can post a pic but i think everyone knows what I mean when I say handlebar hits gas tank on the left. Any suggestions as to how to correct this? Should I make a stop for it? Should there be concern that the wheel could move to the extreme and cause an accident? Thanks ahead of time.

The handlebar is bent, you can get a new one for about $40 or try to straighten it. I straightened mine with a torch and vice.

that is all it is, a bent handlebar? Cool. Thank you. I had to tighten the bar ends as they were wobbling. Didn't notice the bar was bent.

Don't forget to check the fork stops, too. Sometimes they get banged up from the impact.

I didn't check the fork stops, I will though, but the left bar is bent. I wondered why the paint there was chipped and rust was showing thru. I had put some WD-40 on it to stop the rust until I got paint to apply. Nice to know what is wrong can be corrected. I will watch ebay for a deal on a bar. Thanks to you all for the great suggestions.

Hopefully it's just the handlebar. I don't know for sure, but I might have a bar. I'll let you as soon as I can.
