FreeNinja - best deal ever maybe

So my uncle bought this 2004 Ninja 250 In spring of 2005 brand new. He put 2200 miles on it and the fuel tank started leaking. He tried to clean and coat the inside but the coating came off and clogged the carbs. He got aggravated parked it and bought a Yamaha, swapped it for a Harley then swapped that for a BMW. We spoke a few times about the ninja but it needed a new tank as his was ruined although it looked great outside. So he decided to give me the bike to part, sell, scrap or remove the engine. I contacted Kawasaki because we were under the impression the tank just rusted. Kawasaki informed me of the recall and I took it to the dealer it came from and Kawasaki put a new tank on it. I just sent the carbs to Ducatiman and he refurbished them. After changing oil, coolant, plugs, etc..It starts and runs like new. I have got two new tires for it and plan on changing out the orange accent to Kawasaki green. The bike was never crashed although he did flip it while loading it once and cracked the fairing near the mirror, I repaired the crack when I had it all apart. The bottom cowl had a few scratches and minor cracks so I removed the ninja sticker fixed the cracks and plasti dipped it black. I plan on going through a MSF course and getting my MC endorsement but will ride it sparingly ( too damm many people texting and driving for daily use). I even offered to give it back for him to sell cause I am not a street biker and he said no keep it and do what you like with it but hopes that I like riding it and enjoys it. He even gave me a new helmet and riding jacket.....He is just that type of uncle..
I have attached a pic after I got it and washed the 7 years of dust off of it

He also gave me this Kawasaki years ago and my brother kinda took it over and fixed it up....we ride it and his 800cc stand up a few times a summer

I will post more pics when I am done with my minor customization of it.

Interesting !! I just bought new aftermarket original mirrors cause the R6's was such a pain to get off working behind the cowl. I did prefer the look of them but didn't wanna fight then anytime I needed to remove the cowl and one of them had a stud missing too. Odd thing is my uncle says it came that way ?? Bike only had 1 mile when titled so it is a mystery to me how they got on there in the first place.

Thanks for the welcome Guys. Bike is almost ready to ride. Just gotta pull the wheels and have new tires installed and get it insured. It will remain with the stock color as the green wrap was too much detail for me to make look real good....so I will embrace the orange....it is the new black anyway !
