It's not. It's off a GSXR 600 I think. We had it laying around the shed and fabbed up the fitting

This is my 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250 track scooter. It doesnt look like much but I have spent a good amount of time and money on this bike to get my start in the sport and it is pretty much as far from stock as I can get right now.

I am grateful to my friends who helped along the way. I would have destroyed this bike without your help or lose a limb. Robert (Mr. Moriwaki), Coung (Nutz), Joey, Alex, Nick (BaoPee) come to mind along with the guys at P1 racing who handled the suspension mods and jetting. And of course my gf for putting up with my reckless spending and track addiction. I am glad to be a part of the sport and I hope ya'll enjoy my scooter as much as I do.

Mods include: K&N air filter, MGP slip on, EBC HH brake pads front only, Galfer SS brake lines front only, Bridgestone BT003rs, 415 chain conversion from Aftermarket Cycles, Moty design 4cell battery, Woodcraft clips ons, Woodcraft rear sets, SSR exhaust bracket, woodcraft rear spools, race tech springs, heavy fork oil, emulators, SSR pre load adjuster, penske rear shock, full jet kit, tyga headers welded to MGP slip on, exhaust heat wrap, the fairings were dremeled to account for lowered clip ons

the one airtech makes isn't exactly the same thing, its meant to replace your headlight, but I'm sure you could fab something up with it that works.

Just use vinyl yo!

I bought this bike a couple weeks ago for $500 from an engineer at work. It even has a title that's currently from Iowa with the previous owner's signature.

1997 GSXR750. I haven't started it yet, but I know it needs the carbs cleaned and possibly a float valve replaced. It came with a lot of spare parts.

Here is my race bike. I built it with plans to race WERA this year but the season got away from me before I could. I will be hitting a few trackdays with it this year and then look forward to racing first thing next season.

Here is where I started...

Add a few ingredients...

And the end result...

Thanks! My plan was to do a build thread but I just moved and couldn't find my camera until I was almost complete. When I have a little more time this weekend I will write up the stuff I did.

While I was deployed late year I found this 08 on a trackday forum and decided to pick it up. I wanted to start racing and I figured the 250 class would be a nice slow intro for me. I spent the next 5 months reading lots of forums and sending lots of random boxes home to my wife. When I returned earlier this year the build began, the process took me about 3 months to complete. Below are a list of things I changed.

Race Tech Emulators and Fork Springs
Sato Pre-Load Adjusters
Ohlins Rear Shock
M4 Exhaust
Area P Exhaust Hanger
Factory Pro Jet Kit
BMC Air Filter
Sato Rear Sets
Woodcraft Clipons
Renthal Grips
Spiegler Stainless Steel Lines
EBC HH Brake Pads
Scotts Steering Damper
415 Conversion w/DID chain
Woodcraft Shark toe guard
Bridgestone 003 110/140
Armor Bodies Race Fairings
Paint by Andrew Swenson
Decals by Drippin Wet Custom

I used many of they DIY threads on this forum and just took my time and had fun with it. If you have any specific questions about anything please feel free to ask.

This is an awesome list of upgrades. Think of me if/when you are ready to sell your bike and move onto something else!

Do you feel the steering damper was worth while? Have you used any other types of tires?

I'll get a shot for you but it's pretty much stock. I have a GPX pro I am thinking of replacing the OEM gauges with.

lol I will keep you in mind. Other than a few quick laps around my block I haven't had a chance to fully test it out. I got the damper mainly because it's a WERA requirement. These are the only tires I have used and again I haven't had an opportunity to test them out.

@TGRIFF: That looks amazing! Few questions: why do so many of you remove that cover over the front sprocket on your race bikes? Why did you change the rear sprocket? Why did you choose that muffler/full-system over the Area P race full system? Why are you using frame sliders? Lots of people in here have pointed out that frame-sliders can result in the bike's frame being bent... which is more expensive and inconvenient than having the plastics rashed up.

I can answer one of those questions: The sprocket cover adds weight and only limited functionality. I'm going to guess at the others: Many changed the rear sprocket because the converted to a different chain size. Exhaust? No idea. Frame sliders? Possibly because they don't agree, don't believe it applies as much to low-displacement bikes, or do care more about the plastics (spare frame or something).

Thanks CZroe.

Sprocket change for weight reduction. Aftter talking with some racers and reading about it I figured it would be good mod to try.

I really didn't know about Area P at the time. It took me a while before I stumbled onto this forum. I bought the M4 after the recommendation of a racer. I found out about area p when I started looking for exhaust hangers.
I have frame sliders on my other bike and unfortunately I have tested them twice on the track. They served me well so I decided to try them on this one.

I hope I have answered your questions. I am a novice at this all. Like I said before I haven't had an opportunity to test her out on the track so I have no idea if all the things I did will really work. After the 18th I will have some videos and a better report of how everything works.

First Track Day

Here's my contirbution. Not quite race bike yet since I haven't actually raced it. I had planned on racing CVMA this season but I'll be moving to Austin, TX at the end of the month so I'll have to figure out where to race there.

Anyway, here's my bike during my first trackday at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. It was also the first time I rode the bike past 3rd gear since I've only ridden it on kart tracks a few times for practice. Bike has stock suspension and it still has the full wiring, fan, etc. My mods are listed below:

-Woodcraft Clip ons
-SV Racing rear sets
-Adjustable/folding levers
-Galfer SS front brake line
-Versa front brake pad
-Two Brothers Slip on
-Moty Design 4 cell battery
-Sharskinz body
-BT003 tires front and back
-DIY quick turn throttle

By the way, bike #211 is a CBR 250. That dude can ride! We'd catch him on the straights but he'd get us back in the turns. IIRC he's an AFM racer on his liter bike. My buddy rides the Ninja 250 with no fairings, he's got a Busa front end on it. I have a video of our session too that I might post up.

I had planned on racing CVMA this season but I'll be moving to Austin, TX at the end of the month so I'll have to figure out where to race there.

Aww bummer! We've been whoring for a bigger 250 grid for so long! Hopefully #211 can come out and race with us

Also now I'm sure thats brian's old bike, that thing is so fun!

I had a local body shop do the Kawasaki green, then I spent the weekend adding all of the details. The theme was inspired by Kenan Sofuoglu's bike.
