Really would prefer not to

I've never tried it, but maybe an EZOut is worth investing in? Also, maybe you can fit a thin hacksaw blade inbetween the clutch lever and the perch and cut the bolt on both sides of the clutch lever, then remove the lever and drill it out. If you're lucky, you won't screw up the threads. Another thing I've done is if you've got enough meat on the bolt, hacksaw a slot into it, then unscrew it with a flathead. Oh, and if you have WD-40 or some Silicone Spray lube, use some of that.

Well well, sounds like your gunna need a new perch anyway. If memory serves me correctly, the bolt threads into the bottom of the perch and the nut just locks it into place. It's super easy to strip out too. If you replace your perch, remember to just snug the new lever bolt into the perch. The bottom nut is the one that gets torqued, not the bolt.

Or you can try to save it!
Use another smaller bolt and hammer to tap it out from the bottom. Shouldn't take much but a few love taps that are firm but still on the gentle side. Once out, clean up the threads on the bottom. Save the part of the bolt that you extracted and take it to the hardware store to get another the same size but just a bit longer and the matching nut. Oh! And some blue locktite.

Good luck, should be a fairly simple repair.

Some good tips from MrAtom as well. A tip out ezouts, those things are super hard. If you break one, it takes an expensive drill bit to be able to drill through it. Sometimes, I weigh my options... would it cost me more to buy the ezout, a bit that can drill out the ezout any maybe still have to replace the part? Or do I just cut my losses and just drill out the part knowing the worst case is I must replace the part anyway?

I have a new bolt and nut already. just need to get this bastard off, the nut on the bottom just spins no matter what I do I think I'll just grind the bottom out and see if I can do it that way

That would be what I would do, just cut it off and take it from there.

Realising that it's a bitch to get to the nut on the bottom! Looks like I'll have to remove the whole clutch perch, and put it in the vice to get to the bottom. in for a long night tonight when I get home!

Whatever method you try to get it out, try some of this stuff to loosen the threads. It's expensive as heck, but it's better than anything else I've ever used.

Time to use my favorite wrench, or just get another used perch off eBay, and stop wasting time.

I have a little Kroil left.

A 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone will get you pretty much the same thing.

multi-day soak (and re-soak) in penetration oil-spray?

Be careful about using a torch if you go that route though

I got an extra clutch perch I could just give you, only if you were closer to me.
