No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

Careful y'all. This one hurts way worse than the bones it may break.

Some people, after a crash, start to fear the bike and never go fast again. ~From some moto documentary I saw on Netflix

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all.

The Paradoxical Commandments
by Dr. Kent M. Keith

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

it's not a quote. it's a way to live your life; smile. laugh and enjoy the people around you. make jokes and be silly. you only get one life, so what's the point being angry or sad or fearful? be happy.

A horse walks into a bar. The bartender asks the horse if it's an alcoholic considering all the bars he frequents, to which the horse replies "I don't think I am." POOF! The horse disappears.

This is the point in time when all the philosophy students in the audience begin to giggle, as they are familiar with the philosophical proposition of Cogito ergo sum, or I think, therefore, I am.

But to explain the concept aforehand would be putting Descartes before the horse.

“Assumptions are dangerous things to make, and like all dangerous things to make -- bombs, for instance, or strawberry shortcake -- if you make even the tiniest mistake you can find yourself in terrible trouble. Making assumptions simply means believing things are a certain way with little or no evidence that shows you are correct, and you can see at once how this can lead to terrible trouble. For instance, one morning you might wake up and make the assumption that your bed was in the same place that it always was, even though you would have no real evidence that this was so. But when you got out of your bed, you might discover that it had floated out to sea, and now you would be in terrible trouble all because of the incorrect assumption that you'd made. You can see that it is better not to make too many assumptions, particularly in the morning.” ― Lemony Snicket

It don't matter in what direction you're going as long as one doesn't sit stagnantly still. The arrow is a good analogy of that. Once withdrawn, it has nowhere to go but the opposite direction, normally with 100% commitment and the accuracy is based on the shooter, much like most things in life.

I always shoot myself in the foot just before sticking my other foot in my mouth.
