Hey thanks guys

You guys are a nice source of info as well as a positive atmosphere to be in. I could ask your guys' advice on anything and chances are, someone will have something great to say. My friends think I'm weird for going on a forum and talking to a bunch of people I don't know but they just don't get it. I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but thanks, guys!

Having belonged to a lot forums over the years, since the days of BBS internt, I have found that the Ninjette.org, and EX-500.com are amongst the best ones for these bikes.

Sometimes it seems easier to connect with others from a distance.

I think part of what makes it work so well is the 'off topic' section which lets you get to know people and their interests in a rounder and more complete way than if it was "bikes only". I wouldn't, for instance, usually meet other artists on a biker forum.
Other forums I use are quite strict about being topic and so posters stay pretty one dimensional.
Also, although I am not part of it "over there" I think (could be wrong) a lot of people from the forum actually meet up for real through racing and such.

I hope this doesn't sound like I'm patting myself on the back, it's not supposed to, but it illustrates the "band of brothers" that we are as motorcyclist, even via the internet.

some years back, on another site, a person I had known was killed by a drunk driver (he wasn't on his bike, but didn't make any difference). Left a wife and two very young sons.

I set up a hotmail account and paypal account and took donations and words of condolence from those who knew BigTilla.

over $3000 was raised and given to the widow.

the point is that I told this to my sister, She was like, "how do you know this guy?" Just a motorcycle friend off the internet... She just couldn't believe people who had never met would donate... I thought nothing of it, just seemed the right thing to do.

his photos are in my bucket and I see them from time to time.

Ride on BigT, the day is coming when we'll roll up some asphalt ribbon together.

One thing I love about good forums is that you get a chance to interact with -- and sometimes meet -- people who you would never encounter otherwise.

Because of this place, for example, I got to meet @csmith12, @Bigballsofpaint, and @Ducati999... all fine individuals who are a hoot to hang out with.

It's made my motorcycle experience much richer.

Friends are friends no matter where you meet them. I now count many here as friends to one degree or another. @NevadaWolf i would count as one of my best friends. i would not have had the opportunity to meet her without someplace like this.

I'd like to second @MrAtom's comment - I usually hate forums because of frequent hate and negativity but ninjette.org has been a great experience for me! I love the advice and information I've gotten from other users here and even though I've been part of a few heated debates, everyone is always kind and respectful.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

^ that forum has a lot of members. it's sad when a new member receives mix info and bad info. because of the lack of knowledge.

Some of the particular attention you may be receiving could in some way or some form be attributable to the particular avatar display image that you have chosen to display.

Maybe I'm the only one, but it kind of speaks on a subconscious level -- "I'm female, help." Perhaps that was not the best approach.

^^ Moderation is a delicate thing, it seems. The alex dude who runs this place does an excellent freaaking job. That.. AND we don't seem to have a lot of ad-generated web traffic.

That is to say, if an idiot google searches "ninja 250/300" -- they typically won't wind up here unless they do a bit of cognitive work and successfully complete a few basic problem-solving requirements before figuring out that this forum contains a wealth of knowledge in the form of many educated members.

Quality, over quantity. Truly. A good example of this is how the moderator of this forum has chosen to hide post counts above a certain number. Life lessons contained within. It's not how many times you open your mouth, but what you actually say that matters.

I do certainly cherish my time on this forum.

Could have something to do with it...

ICBM launch control facilities (where the guys sit at the ready in case they are ordered to annihilate the world) have a mint green/light grey color scheme: it's good for calm, clear, rational thinking.

Scientific studies have correlated the colors red, orange, and yellow to elicit feelings of lust, trigger salivation, perspiration, and even mild sexual arousal. Increased blood flow to the ear lobes, flushing of the skin in the face and neck areas which increases the sensations of touch to those areas.

Click this link and tell me what the predominant colors are.

^^ google image search result for "fast food logos."
