Hey there folks!

Hey everybody. I'm a new rider in south Florida. A buddy of mine is selling me his '08 250 on saturday. I'm really excited to ride, just got a helmet today. After some searching it looks like I've found my online home for my new bike! I joined KawiForums and as great as their community is there isn't a lot of 250 talk. THEN I traipsed over to 250R.net thinking they would be more active and that was only slightly better. But it looks like you guys are on a lot and there is a thriving community dedicated to the bike I shall soon be riding.

Welcome. I hope you plan on picking up more than just a helmet. Full gear is generally advocated on this forum.

Yup, I have a jacket already but I'm going to get an armored vest soon too. Not exactly sure what that there thing is called. I've got some light gloves but plan on getting some decent race gloves once I start commuting on the freeway. Boots are coming soon too.

Thanks for the warm welcome gents!

Welcome to our site, James !!!

Have you taken the MSF course yet for your license endorsement?
If not, I recommend this school at Coral Springs:
http://www.learn2ridetoday.com/

You can find some local 250's owners and mechanics in this site:

Please stay away from I-95 for your first six months of riding !!!
Visit our Riding Skills section.

Kind but undeserved words, Teri

Unfortunately, I live far North from the OP.

Thanks guys! I will be taking the MSF course and was actually planning on doing it with Learn2Ride. Thanks for all the info and I won't be on 95 too soon.
