Beginning Of A Project
So this is my first thread/post here, and its great to be joining a great community of people! I have used this sight for a few little tips and mods for my own. Anyways, back on topic, I have a 2007 Ninja 250 that I have decided to keep as my long term bike.
I want this thread to be for 250 riders to get good upgrade ideas from everything dealing with handling and breaking to cosmetics. More about the bike: I basically stole it from a guy for $1300, it had 1200 miles, came with a jacket and gloves and was always garaged. The only mods I have done to it are an aftermarket Muzzy exhaust and a "Back off xp" module for the brake lights (I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this mod for any one with this bike). I am looking for good upgrades handling wise, if anyone has had experience with steel braided brake lines on these bikes as well as what tires (something stickier than stock but wont wear insanely fast because its a daily driver) might be recommended for it? Any one with experience of doing suspension mods to stiffen up the suspension on it? And last but not least, any recommended jet kits? I have only seen that Dyno Jet has a jet kit for it but it is just stage 1 and 3, I have an aftermarket Muzzy exhaust so the bike is running a bit on the lean side so it would be nice to put a jet kit in, I am just unsure as to what to go with for one. If anyone would like to see how I did the flashing brake lights mod I would be more than happy to take some photos/video of it in action. |

Welcome. PO of mine installed the Backoff! on mine and it's pretty awesome. I like it, but they decided to half-ass it and not solder it and I rode around without a brake light working for a few days. Whoops!

My ss brake lines saved me from going into the back of a minivan the day I installed them. Definitely a good call. Pirelli Sport Demons fit the bill for being stickier than stock but lasted me a decent # of miles. Heard Factory Pro and DynoJet are both good jet kits. Good luck!
