Isle of Man, would you?
How many of you, if given the chance would participate in the Isle of man on your 250/300? Remember, there is an average of 2 deaths per year at this race.

No way I would compete in a race, take a ride around the track for a joy ride sure, but not race.
If you watched TT3D they talk about it taking the average racer three years just to remember the track. I forget the number of turns but it's a lot.

I'd race on the 250....with other 250's my bike barely breaks 100mph at top speed, I am not sure the prototype bikes even go that slow?

YES, dear god, YESSSSS!
One of the most important goals on my bucket list is to put down a 120+mph lap on the isle of man, while I wouldn't be able to do that on my 250 or my 300 running the course on either of my bikes would advance me towards that goal greatly in terms of learning the ridiculous mountain course for the supersport/superbike races It would cut down the amount of years needed to properly prepare for the races by at least a few years. As it is I have a lot of track time to put down before I'm confident enough in my skills to tackle the course at speed. racing the 250 there wouldn't be too bad with the top speed, just throw on some upgraded brakes in case you forget a hairpin and odds are you'll take the course just fine. |

Race? Nope, not now nor ever will be that good.
Ride it at my own level with the course closed off just as it would be for the race? YES!

Go the weekend before the races, it's open to the public and a closed course. Personally, I feel it would be safer to ride the race instead. lol

^ I agree with csmith, the actual race would have less people on the course with a much higher average skill level and you would still get to ride your own pace technically. They'd just fly by you if you don't go fast

the day that someone wins a 200+ mile motorcycle race with only 1000 miles of experience under their belt is the day that giacomo agostini and valentino rossi cry that their achievements won't be remembered into the next few generations.

I've already raced the Macau Gp in china which is pretty close to that style of racing. I even had a misshap and lost front brakes and slammed into the wall sending me to the hospital and almost missing the race the next day. So yeah I'd totally race the TT but I wouldn't waste my time doing it on anything less then a 600 super sport.
I'd race the nerbergring as well if they put one on there. |

If I thought I could get past the mental blocks, I probably would. I just couldn't get myself to push that hard even if I had that ability...which I don't.

1. Your fresh off a RS125 and in your first year of 4stroke racing so 106 hp is what your familiar with. 2. You've never been to an Asian country so wtf is going through your head all the time 3. You've been given factory Yamaha's 2003 championship winning R71(R7 with AMA formula extreme spec'd R1 motor) with a briefly mentioned +220hp(it was kinda hidden in with all the other **** the bike had going on) so yeah wheelie control hadn't been invented yet and probably would have made my life much easier 4. The steel walls surrounding the whole course yeah I had plenty of those rubbing my shoulder on the apex and the slick right hander right outside the auto repair shop, yeah I'll there's some **** soaked in that asphalt. 5. Oh yeah and dodging a stray dog and the 3 hungry looking little Asian men chasing after it when ran onto the course. Yeah I don't know if there's a flag for that The whole trip was epic in so many ways and even though I nearly died it was worth it. |

the macau gp is a race that I want to watch live someday but I'm not so sure I would want to compete in it due to the steel walls, at least with the IoM you have the occasional open field. Those courses are completely different beasts though. sick picture, definitely worth the $125 though I'm surprised that shipping it over cost that much |

Macau you can push the limits a bit harder because it's only got like 13 corners so its quicker to learn and become predictable. At the same time the race is a mass start like any other race track so there's more rider vs rider battles going on vs at the TT it's mostly rider vs track. |

I don't think I could go very fast on that course. I seem to be way more comfortable on race tracks where I can have better sight lines and memorize the track better.

Nope, my racing days are far behind me. I'd definitely love to watch the racing and ride the course( though riding the course kills more people than the racing).

If I had the chance I think I wouldn't go on anything bigger than a 250/300, just do to only having roughly 12,000 miles experience under my belt
