So sorry to hear this Teri. On the plus side, at least the driver took full responsibility and said as much to the police.

Wishing you a speedy and full recovery, and for the best for your future riding experiences.

Glad to hear you're still in one piece. The bike can be repaired or replaced you on the other can't. I have the same kitty, here's my trucking buddy and travels with me everywhere i go. I put a santa's hat on him during the holidays.

Oh no! I'm glad you are ok for the most part. I hope you heal up well and get yourself back out there.

The 300 is an excellent bike and the Bolt is cool too. But I think you should get that Ducati instead!

Not too bad. Bend stuff back, new fairing, rearset and the rest with buff out and touch up. lol

Check the forks for straightness and alignment.

Wow, not as bad as I was envisioning. Forks and handlebars are definitely going to be needing checked for alignment, but looks like on the surface she came out of this mostly intact.

Did the front fairing bend (magic plastic!) or is that just the support bracket that broke off?

She just slid, right? So no reason why the frame should be twisted unless I am very wrong. Looks like it's definitely in the land of repairable - depending on the judgement of the other guy's insurance.

Repairable I'd guess, but may still be written off by insurance. They look very closely for signs of torque on the frame, and that bent slider looks like a lot of pressure went into trying to bend the bike.

If they do total it, you're in a good spot, though. Either take the money and get the 300, or buy it back and repair it for super cheap (or both -- trackbike!).

Good luck!

The damage to the car seems relatively high compared to the damaged suffered by the bike, ......that slider was a killer !!! ....and probably saved your leg.

That slider looks like it might have twisted the frame, they will probably total it if it's twisted.

I think it did. If i didn't have them i'm sure i would have had a busted leg, not just a ankle sprain, to go with the thumb.

It was badly bent and looked like it took a lot of force.

So, it looks like i'll have surgery tomorrow. I'll be getting some hardware, screws and a plate.
Ankel is on the mend. i can walk better today.
May have to go back for my left shoulder though, its been hurting like hell since yesterday.

I must say Progressive is awesome! I really don't have to do much, just get them pics of the upgrades today. And a adjuster is coming out today to look at my gear.

The front fender is snapped and the bracket is snapped off of the fork.

Thanks, I hope so. I was still making payments on the damn bike.... At this point I'll be happy if they pay it off and I walk away with nothing and start over.
If they do total it I think we are going to buy it back. I'll either parted out or fix it... Like I said, streetfighter!

Sill, I did really want a 300... Just not like this....

Progressive was excellent when i went down earlier this year. Sent some pics of my gear, had a check in hand the next week. Adjuster saw the bike (it was my 1000) not enough damage to total it, and definitely didnt lowball the estimate. I told them i would fix it myself, their estimate seemed fair to what i looked into, got that check within a week as well. Sad thing is, it doesnt take much to total a 250 because they just arent worth a ton of money. If i had went down on the 250 it would have been totaled for sure, but on the 1000, 4800 in damage for some plastic and metal, not enough to total it though.

Sorry for the fall too, i remember seeing you at the Bear mountain ride a month or so ago. Good to see your doing well, hope everything works out well for you!

Thats good to hear. I've never even been in a car crash so this is all new to me.
Hoping for the best for the bike BUT i am prepared for the worst. We're going to call a lawyer in the next day or so.

Surgery went ok. the bone was worse than they thought. it was shattered and the doc said it was like a jigsaw puzzle in there. The had to put some pins sticking out, yuck! 3 to 6 weeks to get them out and i may have to go back to have the hardware removed in 6 months....
