Why eBay rocks, sometimes

Since I'm now a track addict, it's at least possible that I'll lay the bike down at some point.

I hope not (knock wood).

But if it does happen, it's likely that various bits and bobs will get bent or broken. Hence rearsets, levers and such.

I was thinking of clip-ons, but they don't really do anything differently from the stock pieces (yeah, I know about replaceable bars, but read on).

On the other hand, replacing a bent or broken stock bar with a new one is outrageously expensive.

From Cheap Cycle Parts:

HANDLEBAR, LH
56151-14J00
$130.36

CAP
56131-29G00
$2.59

BOLT (8X32)
09106-08185
$1.99

BALANCER SET, HANDLEBAR
56200-41822
$27.46

That's $162.40 PER SIDE. Nearly $325 for a set of freakin' handlebars???

Eek.

Enter the eBay used parts market. Scored these, pristine other than a few scratches from removing the grips, for about $65 shipped for the pair. Cheaper than el-crappo Chinese parts, never mind Woodcraft!

So I can't yank a damaged bar out. Big whoop... I'd have to relocate levers and switches anyway, and the way I see it, it's not that much additional effort to pull off the top triple.
