I woke SERENITY from her winter slumber, no issues thanks to the battery tender, and Sta-Bil Marine.

Turn petcock on, hit the starter button, a little bit of choke, and started right up.

I think autocorrect got the best of you here.

However, I the first time I read it.

Choking peacocks is a great way to get them started right up!

The number itself means nothing. Dyno's all read different. The important part is the difference in power between runs with small changes.

When will people understand this?

put up some crappy GPS holder for bike. Regret doing that. Time to take it off.

I mean... I know this, but I also like big shiny numbers that I can use to brag to people. I don't care how many hp my bike makes, I care how ,many smiles it makes. If HP was the only think I cared about I wouldn't ride a 250.

This guy keeps his dyno calibrated. IMO, his numbers are gold in this part of the country.

It's one of the higher HP numbers for the local racing Ninja's that he has a record of. The majority are at 29-30.

I would never be bragging on how little HP or TQ my ninjette makes!

My ninjette is not as small as yours!

Put some wheels on it so I can bring it over from my storage unit to my garage where I can really start working on it.

Home Depot would make me buy two. Ten mile round trip, plus 40 minutes to an hour including time in the store. I will pay the shipping.

Valve adjustment

Just did this yesterday and it made a huge improvement in how the bike runs. I bought it used and it never idled right, would stall out after coming to a stop, rev up to several thousand RPM all by itself, etc. Replaced the carb boots, which definitely helped, but the valve job was it. All of the exhaust valves were too tight. At 10K miles, probably was never done.

Easy job other than tiny adjusters.

I get where you're coming from, but oh brother...

I have a baggie of cotter pins that I bought when I first bought the bike, not out yet. I think they were like $0.80 a piece or something.

I use the cotter pins I got from the Volkswagen dealership. They go in nicely, but are a pain to get out.

Turns out I managed to acquire a hairline crack in the pump cover at some point in this process. Slow leak (with the engine off) = I get to replace the whole cover anyway.

I have a coolant leak somewhere, and I have no idea where. Im gonna have the bike idle for a while as I leak search, and if I can't find it, I'm putting a bottle of that thick aluminium stuff in the bike.

Trust me, I want to find a fix the leak, but if I can't find a leak, shes getting a bottle, I don't want to overheat the engine again.

New turn signals and mirror. Then I find out the rear brake light switch doesn't work. Hopefully it'll slide passed inspection.

Ran it out of gas before work this morning. I knew I was going to be cutting it close but went for it anyways. 240 miles on the tank and 3 miles from work it started sputtering, a mile later and still 2 miles from work it finally died. At that point I was doing about 20mph so I pulled the clutch in a coasted into the gas station. I had to push it a total of 30' to the pump. Then because I ran it totally dry, I killed the weak a$$ battery trying to prime and start it. It only took two running starts to bump it and I was back on my way. The most lucky/unlucky is my motto for today.

In most inspections as long as the prefered brake lever activates the brake light you will pass.

Oil change done,(about 4,300 miles) new O-rings, and copper washer.

I thought I'd try a different oil instead of the tried and true Rotella synthetic, now I'm running Mobile 1 15-50wt.

It's also the first time I've had to clean the Flo Stainless Steel Reusable Oil Filter. No big surprises came out when I washed it, so back in it went. Also looked at the oil pump screen, and nothing, all clear.

When we got my daughters bike in July it was pretty rough, had obviously been dropped. Fairing was pretty busted up, so she rode it naked, expecting she would drop it a couple times, which she did. But she's been doing well lately and really liked the fairing on my bike when she rode it last weekend. So I went to Harbor Freight and bought a plastic welding soldering iron, some plastic welding rods and a heat gun.

Looked like this to start with:

Here is the top fairing after some plastic welding:

And the fairing on the bike, after straightening the light mount and plastic welding a broken mount in the gauge cluster.

I also replaced her rear wheel/tire, with the original Dunlap on it, with one of my spares with a Perelli MT75 on it. Bike handles much better now.

Nice! I like the paint/sticker design, too!

When I read it the first time, I thought you were manufacturing a whole new fairing. Then I reread it, and you were repairing the one that it was supposed to have, which seemed much more sane.

Well I am repairing the fairing, but the upper had a few missing pieces I had to fill in with melted plastic rods. The chin piece is missing some bigger pieces and tabs. I have a couple sheets of ABS plastic on order to use in repairing it.

Finally got around to finishing my new chain and sprocket install. Pretty much ready to go for the season now, too bad the weather is crap for at least another week.

I need to get the bike inspected sometime as well.

Funny; I was going to add: you'd earn a "Great Dad" if you taught her how to do it!
So here's my belated Great Dad!

EDIT: LMAO! I retyped "Good Dad!"
My bad! Edited it to "Great Dad!" Which is what I intended!

Good! I think every driver/rider should know their vehicle and what to do with it more than just put in gas.

I'm doing my maintenance myself, too, as much as I can, though with significant assistance from my hubby. He's the one with skill at this stuff; I get the general idea, but putting wrench to reality? Kind of lost sometimes.

cleaned my carbs, installed the emulsion tube "collar" that was missing, shimmed the stock needles with 2 washers, took off the snorkel on the airbox, raised the rear shock to position#4(220# rider), left my battery out in the sun all day =( got drained! so sad.

I super glued my shift rod to the bolt that got stripped so it doesn't dangle.

Got some new clips for the belly pan on the race fairing. The set that was on there was mismatched and only two of the fasteners actually fastened.
