Alex said to introduce myself

Hey. So I am 25 and started riding a little over 1 year ago. I use my bike probably around 30% canyons/pleasure, 70% commute. I have a car, but bike>car ^_^.

I have a 2008 Ninja 250r. I love it and plan to keep riding it until I master it. To be honest, there is so much to be learned on this bike that I don't understand why people move to bigger bikes so soon.

I'm eager to become more knowledgeable and more skilled. I'm here so I can learn from your experiences. ^_^

Welcome, you picked a great bike, once you get the suspension set up to your liking, and get some better tyres, the Ninjette will amaze you and other riders in the twisties.

Now it's time for my standard greeting

Welcome, here are just a few things to think about,

1.Get trained and licensed MSF Courses

2.ALWAYS Wear protective gear -- ATGATT All The Gear, All The Time -- including a helmet manufactured to the standards set by a government agency.

3.ALWAYS Ride unimpaired by alcohol or other drugs

4.ALWAYS Ride within your own skill limits

5.Be a lifelong learner by taking refresher rider courses, and advanced rider course A.R.C

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=218237

https://www.ninjette.org/forums/show...8&postcount=26

A.T.G.A.T.T. so I may ride another day.

Congrats, and welcome aboard.

riding is a good part of the fun, but be ready to work on your bike as well. you have a bunch of people here who know the specifics of the Ninjette as well as bikes in general.

wear the gear, have the fun, wave at other bikers...

Actually, it was an "open house" by UMRA at Grange Motor Circuit in Apple Valley. They let you use their minibikes all day on the track. It was extremely helpful. I got tips and input and got to watch and follow good riders. I wish I had a track like that closer so that I could practice more!

Yeah, isn't that right haha. I just had to do an oil change, change my tires, change my brake fluid, change the throttle cable and housing in the last three months. I also went down, so I had to fix my headers, exhaust, fairings, lights, shifter, rear brake, frame sliders, and rearsets lol. I'm so glad I finally get a break from repairs and maintenance.

Neat! Too bad it doesn't look like they have any rental options on their site. A closer track would be nice though it's not too far out. I'm looking into finding some track rentals or dirt bike courses for myself as I have heard nothing but good things about them.

No, I don't think they do. I understand that they have an open track when it's not reserved for races, usually during the week. But ahhh, it's a 1.5 hour drive, and I would want to get a tow for my car in case I crash lol.

If you find a closer one, will you let me know?

Aw bummer! I'm not quite sure what I would do if I crashed at a track either which is why I have been reluctant to go though I believe some places do 250/300 rentals.

I was looking into getting a tow hitch for my WRX the other day and I would also need a trailer x_x Would not mind driving if I had a trailer/hitch and was going to the track. If you hear of anything else around LA/SoCal for track day, please let me know as well
