Apple cider vinegar

I am an old guy so not easily impressed and I hardly ever say "Awesome"
However, in preparation for a ninjette tank restoration I have been experimenting with apple cider vinegar on some old bicycle parts.
A 24 hour soak and clean with a nail brush
AWESOME

(I know what you are thinking but no, it's the same piece no photoshop )
Where has this stuff been all my life? I am now an ACV evangelist.

And here is the latchplate from my shed which looked like a bran flake because it had been there since 1886 !
You can see the pitting but the rust is completely gone and the back is amazing considering well over a century in the elements.

When the wind dies for a few days and the fruit flies start reproducing at a phenomenal rate and filling my house with teeming hordes of winged buzzing pests, I put a capfull of apple cider vinegar out on the counter with a drop of dish soap in it.

The flies land in the ACV to drink, and the effect of the soap on the surface tension of the ACV prevents them from taking off again.

Simple bug extermination 101. Works with flies too.

I use white vinegar, same concept.

I de rusted my 75 Honda with it. If you need it even more aggressive, warm it up a bit in the microwave!

Another thing that works very well is The Works toilet bowl cleaner

Just don't use it on aluminum. It'll soften and break down the aluminum.

Grab some rusty bits from the deep corners of your shed and try it. I just tried an overnight soak in ordinary 5% white vinegar, just as good,
Also neutralizing dip with teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water.
Have fun.

.....not to mention that a tablespoon of ACV and a tablespoon of honey stirred into 8 oz. of water, consumed once a day is really good for you

.......and white vinegar does indeed remove rust from the inside of 250 Ninja fuel tanks. I just poured it out last night after letting it do its thing for 6 days. It looks way better than I expected it to. I dumped in some Lucas fuel system treatment to hold off any further rust until I can get it set back on the bike and refilled with gas.

Just wondering...what are the health benefits and what effect does it have on a persons bowel movement?

cola works too, it's the phosphoric acid.

Any weak acid will do this.
