bye 250 hello 600

guys, meet my new baby! bought it lowered by an inch back and front and i will get it back to stock soon. meanwhile, my common sense tells me that it being lowered has negative effects on suspension.. should i compesate (as an interim solution) by adjusting the tire pressure down to make the ride more pleasant? 32f 36r should do, no? lower?

I would leave the tire pressure where you have it.

Stick to the recommended pressures, and replace the tires if they are original.

It looks like it's an '05 - right? At that point, even if the tires have plenty of tread left, they have lost a significant amount of traction and should be replaced.

If they are not original, still look at the production date on the sidewall. It's 4 numbers in an oval, like "2609". The first 2 are the week of the year (26th week) the last are the last 2 digits of the year (2009). After it's been mounted and used about 4-5 years it's a good idea to replace the tire - especially a cycle tire.

I like the color. Lowering will limit the amount of ground clearance for cornering. So at a track day you'll scrape the boot slider. And if the front forks aren't at the right height to match the lowering they make the steering not as sharp (usually turn in) and ride more like a cruiser bike.

If the suspension lowering was done correctly, the only loss is clearance. Changing the air pressure trying to compensate for that will just make things worse. Raise it to your preferred height properly when ya get the chance and ride on!

A lot of bikes need to have their kickstands shortened when they get lowered. Was this done? If so, that will need to be addressed when you raise it back up.

Love those under tail exhausts. You can keep your lunch warm by putting it under the passenger seat.
